The Putnam Children’s Discovery Center offers families adventure, discovery and learning all at an affordable price. They offer programs in science, drama and art for babies to teens. In addition to programming at the Center, PCDC goes into local schools offering a Hands On Science program where children are exposed to a variety of science opportunities including rocketry. PCDC annually hosts The Tri County Science & Technology Fair and The Discovery Center Players, their all child acting troupe, performs two to three times a year. Their acting program exposes children ages 4 to 14 to theater in a noncompetitive and fun atmosphere. Their drama workshops spark creativity, providing an opportunity for individual expression, and instilling self-confidence and self-discipline. Explorations in Science, offered after school, helps kids to learn through “doing.” Kids can explore other cultures through art, enjoy Kids Krafts or learn cartooning in PCDC’s art program. Preschool programs are also available such as Mommy & Me, Toddling Two’s and Stories Alive. Field trips for preschool and kindergarten age children feature an organized science activity plus activities like gravity wall, rocks dig, fun with magnets and more! PCDC also hosts Family Science Nights and offers all-inclusive birthday party packages. Putnam Children’s Discovery Center is an interactive children’s museum that encourages families to “please touch.”
