The Montessori School believes children need to be self-motivated and grow with patience and caring to become independent learners. This learning environment is designed to meet a child’s academic, social, emotional and physical needs. Kids will learn skills for everyday living such as sorting, grading and classifying, that will lead to their development of writing, reading and mathematical mind. Not only are the children nurtured with patience and caring but the parents are encouraged to communicate their ideas and concerns. The teacher in the Montessori classroom helps the individual child by guiding the child at his or her own pace while attaining responsibility and self-discipline. The area called practical life teaches children how to take care of themselves by washing their hands, sweeping and washing and drying dishes and how to act in everyday situations. Math is a part of a child’s life experience and is taught to realize the mathematical meaning of numbers by recognizing symbols and learning how to measure things out. Learning verbal expression helps them carry on conversation by telling stories and encouraging them to speak distinctly. Another amazing part of the program includes an art area, book corner, science and genealogy area. A fully equipped and fenced in playground is located on the property as well as a gymnasium. In addition there are multi-sport programs available to your child. It includes tennis, soccer, lacrosse, basketball, hockey plus many others.
