Woodbury Jewish Center invites you to join a warm and loving community filled with values and traditions. Seize an opportunity for your children to discover and cherish their Jewish heritage. Established in 1989, Woodbury Jewish Center aims to be both a beacon and a mooring for families interested in traditional Judaic values. Its nursery school introduces Jewish holidays, customs and traditions to more than 200 delightful pre-kindergardeners. The preschool program embraces a curriculum of Judiac experiences, creative arts, science and nature, language arts, and motor activities. The toddler program explores music, dance, arts and crafts, and cooking. Woodbury Jewish Center’s religious school educates more than 300 children in Hebrew history, thought, values and language. Students are introduced to Jewish holidays, Bible stories, Hebrew letters and vocabulary, prayers, music, Israeli folk dancing, history, holidays, ethics and more. There are also enrichment classes for highly motivated students and a reading club.A Youth Group for pre-Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and USY Group for teens each offers a full calendar of secular and religious events. Special education classes, having small class registers, meet once a week for Hebrew, history, holidays and music. This program is available to students in grades 3-7 and culminates with a bar/bat mitzvah. Call for more information.
