Founded in 1957, Westbury Friends School has grown and developed while remaining small enough to ensure that every child is treated as a unique and important individual. At this NYSAIS accredited, culturally diverse Quaker school, a small student/teacher ratio is maintained, and students in nursery through fifth grade are offered an enriched core academic curriculum taught by highly qualified faculty. A Westbury Friends education also includes specials such as art, music, physical education, health and Spanish. The Library Media Center and its adjacent computer lab offer students opportunities to develop and apply their technology skills and conduct research within a global community. While keeping an eye toward environmental stewardship, which is one of the many Quaker Testimonies emphasized at Westbury Friends, a focus is placed on inquiry-based learning, allowing every individual to explore and advance at his/her own pace. The Early Birds Program allows for a positive morning transition beginning at 7am until classes start at 8:30am. A carefully designed Extended Day Program is available to students from 2:40-6pm.
