The Riverside Church Weekday School seeks to nurture and support the intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual growth of young children ages 2-5. Dedicated to welcoming children of all races, economic groups, religions, cultures and family structures, the school encourages parent involvement and offers support to parents in their responsibilities as mothers and fathers. Parents are welcomed into the classrooms to share their experiences and expertise and are essential in bringing the home and family into the school environment. Each class has a lead teacher who has a master’s degree. Assistant teachers may have a master’s degree, an undergraduate degree, a certificate in early childhood education and/or extensive experience. The staff includes a full-time art teacher and part-time music and movement teachers. Financial assistance is available. There are three 2s groups— Tuesday and Thursday, 9-11:30am; Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9-11:30am or Tuesday and Thursday, 12:30-3pm. Meanwhile, 3s, 4s and 5s meet 8:45am-12:30pm, 8:45am-2:30pm or 8:45am-5:30pm. There is also early drop-off available (8-8:45am).
