Plaza Theatrical’s Performing Arts Academy, Inc., offers classes in three convenient locations on the elementary, middle and high school levels. Grades 3-6 may attend classes in either Bellmore or Rockville Centre and grades 7-12 may attend classes in Oceanside. Students acquire skills that may be applied to age-appropriate, authentic theatrical experiences. Through the rehearsal process, students gain instruction in all aspects of musical theatre, including acting, vocal performance, character development and movement. All student productions are fully staged with professionally designed scenery, props, lighting and sound. The students who enroll in the academy have the opportunity to come together with other children who enjoy performing. Through participation in programs, students gain new friends, work cooperatively, improve their self-esteem and communicate more effectively. But most importantly, they have fun in a warm, safe and nurturing environment. Space in the performance workshop classes is limited, so register early to avoid disappointment. Some children seem "born to entertain" while others simply love to sing, act and express their creativity; there is an important place for everyone in the Performing Arts Academy, Inc.
