Set on 14 acres of beautiful water-view property, North Shore Day School offers programs for children ages 2-6. Blending a winning combination of fostering educational advancement with a commitment to remaining sensitive to the ages and needs of young children, North Shore’s certified teaching staff takes a creative and individualized approach to teaching. In the Toddler program, parents and children participate in a separation process, wherein toddlers (diapers allowed!) interact with new friends while parents socialize and share refreshments nearby. In a warm, nurturing and loving environment, children participate in music, arts & crafts and lots of exciting outdoor activities. Nursery School for 3-year-olds touches upon beginner academics, in which students become familiar with numbers, shapes, colors and letters. Four-year-olds in the Pre-K program delve into a well-rounded curriculum including beginner reading and math, social studies and science, letter writing and computers. Socialization skills are enhanced as well. All students at North Shore enjoy the use of three outdoor playgrounds, an indoor gym, a library, music program, computer exploration, cooking, etiquette classes, and Spanish and French classes. There are nature areas for discovery walks and a chance to ride horses right on the school grounds! Known for its extremely flexible scheduling, North Shore allows parents to choose any combination of hours including mini days, half days, full days and even extended hours.
