Noah’s Ark Progressive Learning Center strives to create a learning environment which invites the fullest expression of each person’s gifts. Both nursery and pre-kindergarten classrooms are divided into distinct learning areas. Two-year-olds learn through the medium of art. The pre-kindergarten program is dedicated to the process of awakening and fostering in the children the love of learning. Their setting offers the child the opportunity to teach him/herself through his/her own discoveries. Specialty areas include Spanish, which covers counting, colors, numbers, days of the week, months of the year, parts of the body and songs in Spanish. Their Music Appreciation Program is a unique approach to early childhood music and movement development for toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarten children in that children learn the basics of music through movement. Noah’s Ark views computers as tools, a way to extend the limits of children’s learning and imagination. Children are taught the basic parts of a computer, and through hand coordination, they develop and master the use of the mouse. Creative Movement and Dance Classes encourage children to express themselves through movement and dance, providing physical activity and experiences that teach coordination, rhythm, strength, flexibility and endurance. Gym is held in their large indoor gym, while swimming lessons are held on the premises of the YMCA for an additional fee. Noah’s Ark also offers an afterschool program with bus service for ages 6-12, where time will be spent building academic skills and addressing the needs of each individual student.
