The Mohawk Country Home School has been providing a warm,
home-like educational atmosphere for children in Westchester
for over 65 years. On the lush 40-acre Mohawk Day Camp site,
the expert staff helps 3 to 6-year-old children develop socially,
physically, creatively and intellectually. The program is
balanced between teacher-directed and child-initiated activities
with classes that are created to be age and developmentally
appropriate. Specialty classes include daily music conducted
by two music teachers, gym with a physical education instructor,
and an introduction to computers in a computer lab. The readiness
curriculum combines language development, number concepts,
hands-on science activities and plenty of free play indoors,
on the pre-school’s various playgrounds and bicycle
center, as well as walks to the school’s on-site farm
and orchard. There are three classes designed for kindergarten-age
children and first grade as well. Classes are available in
the mornings from 9:10am - noon, mini-day from 9:10am –
2pm, or full-day from 9:10am till 4pm. There is an early drop-off
beginning at 8:15am. Lunch and snacks are served daily. For
