Every family is special at the Mid-Island Y JCC. The JCC has programs designed to meet every developmental stage of one's life. New Mother/New Baby, Mommy & Me, infant and toddler gym, swim, dance, music and movement are just a few of the many classes offered. Its nursery school and preschool daycare are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and provides quality education in a family-friendly environment. Children in grades k-5 enjoy swimming, karate, English Language Arts tutoring and academic enrichment in the JCC's afterschool program. The JCC also offers comprehensive year-round programming for children (pre-k through teens) with developmental delays through The K.I.S.S. Center (Kids In Special Services). Summer camp programs are held onsite for preschoolers while older children enjoy the beautiful 350-acre Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in Wheatley Heights. Travel camps provide a great way for teens to explore the United States. Teen services include SAT/Regents review courses, leadership/community service programs, fitness and aquatics classes, and sports leagues. Bereavement and support groups, senior adult programs, singles and couples programs, adult and Jewish education, cultural arts programs... it's all here at the Mid-Island Y JCC. Its health and fitness facility, now open on Saturdays from 1-5:30pm, features an indoor heated pool, two fitness centers, racquetball courts, gym, steam room, sauna and massage center.
