The Huntington YMCA’s preschool program is devoted to providing educational, social and physical opportunities in a safe, secure environment. There are programs for children ages 2-4. Each child benefits from a comprehensive curriculum that is designed for discovery, choice making, problem solving and creative expressions. The balanced program includes art, science, music, story time and cooking, in addition to math and reading- readiness preparation. A session of swim instruction is included in the 3 and 4 year olds’ classes. All ages will enjoy a session of Fitness Fun, and the YMCA’s Arts-in-Education Fund provides for special programs to visit the preschool. The YMCA preschool is staffed with certified and experienced teachers with a staff and child ratio of 5, 6 or 7 to 1 depending on the age level.
