The Hoff-Barthelson Music School community extends a welcome of warmth and caring to all who walk through its doors and into its musical home. The School has achieved national recognition as a premier community music school for its unsurpassed leadership in education, performance and outreach; it serves more than 1,800 students from 50 Westchester municipalities and beyond. At Hoff-Barthelson, students embark upon a journey of musical growth under the guidance of distinguished and dedicated faculty, who are drawn from among the nation’s most distinguished performers and educators. Students are encouraged to explore their musical ideas, tastes and potential in a familial setting of friendship and support. The School offers a comprehensive afterschool and Saturday music program of individualized instruction in combination with a sequential musicianship curriculum encompassing music theory, ear training and composition skills. Participation in large and small instrumental ensembles and chorus and frequent performance opportunities in a warm, familial setting are a hallmark of the School’s curriculum. There are four Orchestras, four Choirs, a comprehensive Jazz Studies Program, music technology lab, three Flute Choirs, Master Classes, workshops and guest appearances by world-renowned artists. Young children are introduced to music through the Preschool Center, Dalcroze-Eurhythmics music and movement classes, Suzuki Program and recorder classes. The School year is further enhanced by a five-week Summer Arts Program.
