Doula Network of Long Island

The Doula Network of Long Island formed as a group of knowledgeable, nurturing women who wanted to join hands to better serve the Long Island community and their families throughout the birth experience and beyond. As Trained Professionals in birthing support and infant care education, they aim to assist parents in creating a “comfortable and fulfilling transition from pregnancy, through labor and after into the postpartum period.” Each of the women have years of experience as Doulas, and they are committed to making the birthing time as loving and positive as possible. The Doula provides constant care throughout labor, with emotional support and numerous physical comfort measures in addition to thorough explanations of procedures. Before the birth, mothers can take classes in such topics as Lamaze, breastfeeding, and the vitally important skills on “How To Survive The First Six Weeks”. The Doula’s Postpartum skills after a birth continue to help with breastfeeding, infant care, and mother nurturing. This group is dedicated to providing the mother with the kind of birth she envisions, and the confidence to give the best care to her newborn. More information can be found on the Doula Network Web site, www.doulanetworkofli.com, or by calling (631)574-2250.
