Briarcliff Nursery School has provided a developmentally appropriate education since 1947. Through hands-on learning or play, children think creatively and critically, the foundation for academic achievement. Children are given opportunities to explore new ideas and express themselves freely, encouraging problem solving and critical thinking. Insightful and supportive teachers provide an environment where children thrive. The child-centered curriculum focuses on the individual as well as the needs of the group, nurturing cognitive, social, emotional and physical development. BNS, a parent cooperative, is housed on more than two acres of beautiful property. The expansive playground, essentially an outdoor classroom, has a water play area, swings, playhouses, super-size sand boxes, climbing equipment and a maze. Music, creative movement, nature time, special projects and field trips fill the school year. Classes are offered in the morning and afternoon for ages 2-5, including Mommy and Me classes for toddlers. A half-day summer camp is also available. Overall, BNS provides an enriched environment enhancing each child’s self-esteem and desire to keep learning, growing and exploring.
