Bodies in Motion is for children who need that extra special attention. Developed by two pediatric occupational therapists and a health and physical educator, Bodies in Motion has been designed to be a group where sensorimotor skills, fine motor skills, coordination and social skills are addressed as the children play, dance, jump and roll to music. Trampoline activities, obstacle courses, ribbon dancing, parachute play and arts and crafts are some of the fun activities that the children love. They also enjoy encouraging and cheering each other on. Social skills are addressed and incorporated throughout the entire session. Following directions, turn taking, listening, and waiting are a few of the areas that Bodies in Motion addresses. Sessions are conducted in small groups so that each child receives individual attention. Private occupational therapy sessions and classes for preschoolers are also available. Childhood should be a time of fun, learning and play— and Bodies in Motion fosters these skills so that kids can be kids.
