Bellmore United Nursery School offers a variety of early childhood programs to suit your family’s needs. Bellmore United Nursery School seeks to provide a caring, supportive environment where children learn to socialize. It encourages students to enjoy their first school experience so they may be prepared for kindergarten. Children age 3 may enroll in two- or three-day programs, which feature color recognition, shapes, rhyming, holiday celebrations, nature walks, music, art, free play, storytime and more. Those age 4 may participate in three-, four- or five-day programs that introduce students to the alphabet, counting, various animals, nutrition, dental hygiene and more. Children in pre-k enrichment may attend one or two days a week and learn about science, art, colors, nature, animals, the environment, measurements and more. Pre-k students also go on class trips to areas such as farms, firehouses, libraries, museums and more. They also graduate in an exciting ceremony upon completion of the school year. Three and 4 year olds also have the opportunity to participate in drama productions. An additional Pre-K Drawing and Painting Program is offered on Thursday afternoons. Students learn basic drawing concepts and explore the work of famous artists, all of which helps to prepare them for kindergarten. Parents looking for an extended-day program for their pre-kindergarten children may also turn to Bellmore United Nursery School. Children engage in projects and activities that may be relevant to the season, holiday, children’s literature or their class curriculum. Bellmore United Nursery School’s Director and teacher Maureen Weeden has more than 20 years of teaching experience. She is eager to help your child have a positive first school experience.
