Is your child stuttering? Is he struggling to say his own name? All Island Speech Therapy and The Long Island Stuttering Connection provide evaluations and therapy for children and adults who stutter and other communication disorders, such as articulation and oral motor disorders. The director, Lori Melnitsky Fradkin, is a licensed speech language pathologist who overcame a severe stuttering disorder as a child. Stuttering treatment programs are available for preschool and school-aged stuttering. Lori is trained in the Lidcombe Program for Early Childhood Stuttering and is pursuing her Board Recognition in Fluency Disorders. Lori has extensive training in fluency shaping strategies. New practice and support groups are starting in the fall for children and adults who stutter. Parental involvement is strongly welcomed and encouraged. Workshops are offered to the public on normal speech and language development and stuttering risk factors.
