Students
at The Wilson School, ages 4-14, are creative, analytical and independent
thinkers. They perform, speak in public, swim, participate in sports
and play musical instruments. The well-rounded and balanced academic
program also includes computers, gym, swim, yoga, health, art music,
and foreign languages (French and Spanish). The intensive writing program
emphasizes all genres and skills from research papers to creative stories,
plays, poems and musical lyrics. Students practice the life skills of
working with partners and in teams. Students at The Wilson School are
recognized annually by the American Mathematics Association for outstanding
math students and by Johns Hopkins for distinguished SAT scores at the
Middle School level. Since 2002, The Wilson School has been ranked #1
in New Jersey for the highest percentage of students achieving the Presidential
Fitness Award. The Wilson School Volleyball Team is 30-3 over the past
4 seasons. The Wilson School has recently gone through the reaccreditation
process and has been reaccredited by Middle States Association until
the year 2015. Foundations for the future are set in each grade. Because
grade size is limited to 10 students, each student is assured of receiving
the attention necessary to succeed. The 20-member faculty annually designs
the curriculum to meet the needs of their students that year. Graduates
of The Wilson School are often selected for honors programs in the high
schools of their choice, and they report they are fully prepared for
the academic rigor of secondary schools. The facility includes a new
science lab, computer lab, full-sized gym, auditorium, 25-meter swimming
pool, playground, dining room and kitchen. Throughout 2008-2009 The
Wilson School will be celebrating its centennial anniversary with many
events and presentations. Simply put, the Wilson School is ahead of
the curve by teaching students the 21st Century Skills that they will
need to succeed in a ever-changing world.
