At the Sally and David Weintal Preschool, their mandate as educators is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the children in their care. They do this by ensuring that the commitment of the school is to the children to their well-being, their happiness, their individuality and to their natural interest in learning. Young children are compelled to explore their universe; it is only through this exploration that they are able to make sense of and then master the skills needed to succeed. When children master skills, their joy is insurmountable. It is with this in mind that they have constructed a safe, supportive and inviting place for the children to do that exploration. Each teacher understands the importance of honoring and respecting each child for who he or she is at this moment.
