Every
child is unique at Trinity Lutheran, where a variety of stimulating
programs meet the individual and developmental needs of pre-schoolers,
kindergarteners and first graders. Full day and half-day sessions are
available, as well as before and aftercare. December 31st is the cut
off date for all programs. Arts & crafts, circle time, academic
lessons and a gym period are incorporated into daily routines. Children
enjoy an outdoor as well as an indoor playground. Special events such
as "Farm Day" when a local petting zoo comes to visit, and
field trips to cultural centers round out the curriculum. In "Toddler
& Me," children from 1 ½ - 2½, along with an
adult, participate in a modified nursery school atmosphere. Held once
a week for 1½ hours, this program focuses on making the transition
from home to preschool easier. Children learn to socialize and interact
among peers and they make friends through playful, fun activities. When
children are ready to venture out into a world of discovery by themselves,
Trinity Lutheran's 2 year-old program is the place to be. Your child
will develop socially and learn self-help skills, such as potty training
and the ability to separate from their families. Nursery school activities
are diversified and center on socialization, listening skills and basic
self-control techniques. Pre-Kindergarten programs serve as preparation
for Kindergarten. Children master the alphabet and counting while developing
their communication skills. The Kindergarten is a full-day integrated
program that focuses on phonics, writing, math, science, social studies,
weekly music classes and computer skills round out the program. Trinity
Lutheran's First Grade is limited to 12 students, and continues to emphasize
hands-on learning. With a goal to “develop a joy of life and learning
that will last a lifetime,” Trinity Lutheran School combines quality
education with socialization in a friendly, caring atmosphere.
