Since
its founding in 1910, St. Virgil School has offered children an opportunity
for spiritual, intellectual and social growth in a warm, loving environment.
The school stresses an educational importance of the basics: English,
mathematics and reading. They offer Spanish, study skills, physical
education and the arts. Open to all children regardless of race, color,
creed or religion, the students are encouraged to realize their own
uniqueness and potential, and master good speaking and writing skills.
Although religion is taught formally in the classroom, Christian principles
become an integral part of the entire curriculum. St. Virgil School
offers an extended care program for students in grades Pre-K through
8 until 6pm. St. Virgil School values and encourages the role of extracurricular
activities. They offer boys and girls cross country and track, boys
and girls basketball, Forensics, Drama, School Consortium of New Jersey,
Virgil Voice (newspaper), Future Musicians of America, Inc., Special
Chorus, Scouting, Altar Servers, Student Council, Buddy System and field
trips. The highly qualified staff is certified and dedicated to the
educational and religious development of each child. The average class
size is 20. Call Mrs. Joyce Middleton, Principal, at (973)539-7267 for
a tour of the school. Come see the commitment evident at St. Virgil
School and become part of the Renaissance.
