Sport-O-Rama believes that ice skating is an individual lifetime sport, which develops coordination and improves poise, grace, rhythm and good posture. Public skating sessions are held throughout the year and skate rentals are available. The Sport-O-Rama Hockey Program includes all aspects of hockey— beginner clinics, recreational hockey (Sport-O-Rama House Leagues), senior leagues and competitive travel teams (The Ramapo Saints). The program is supervised by an experienced and professional staff. Also included in the program is physical fitness training at LifePlex. The Youth Hockey Leagues are determined by level and age. Equipment is mandatory and includes helmets with full face masks, elbow guards, shin guards, gloves, supporter and cup, stick, hockey skates, hockey pants, shoulder pads and mouthpiece. Safety is of the utmost importance at Sport-O-Rama. Sport-O-Rama’s skating programs also afford the skater an opportunity to either participate in both recreational and competitive figure skating programs. Sport-O-Rama has had many National, World and Olympic skaters train at the facility under the direction of Peter Burrows. Group lesson classes utilize the Ice Skating Institutes Recreational skating program, a nationally accepted instruction program focusing on skill development.
