The Ridgewood Conservatory’s Early Childhood Music Program was designed to help children grow musically, as well as emotionally, socially and cognitively. Developed by internationally acclaimed early childhood experts and music educators, the Musikgarten® curriculum used at The Conservatory is unique in that it includes classes for each developmental level from birth through age seven. Family Music for Babies offers an intimate singing, rocking, bouncing and dancing experience. Family Music for Toddlers helps children learn about music through movement, singing, dancing, listening and playing simple instruments, with emphasis on learning tonal and rhythmic patterns. Cycle of Seasons teaches preschoolers aural discrimination, fosters self-expression through creative movement and storytelling, and lays the foundation for musical notation through singing and use of musical instruments. Music Makers, a sequential two-year pre-instrument program, includes singing, solfege, movement, ear training and guided listening to develop initial music literacy.
