The Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life Center for Special Education provides a variety of educational programs and services for developmentally challenged and learning disabled children, adults and their families. Yaldeinu (ages 3 to 14) is a Sunday school program which is housed by Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy, Livingston. Sylvan Kohn Torah Workshop (for adults) is located at the W.A.E. Center at B’nai Shalom, West Orange. Consultative services in congregational and day school setting (upon request) include: early identification and preschool shadowing; congregational school observations and educational recommendations, teacher training; development of resource rooms and self-contained programs; sensitivity and problem solving/conflict resolution programs; monthly support groups for parents and educational workshops that assist with the special dilemmas parenting/educating a special needs child brings. Our Special Education Resource Library offers circulating books, videos and community resources to assist parents and educators.
