Montebello Jewish Center’s Nursery School is an exciting and loving first learning experience. All classes provide stimulating, nurturing, learn-through-play experiences that help children develop intellectually, socially, physically, spiritually and emotionally. The “First Friends” mommy and me class (2-9 months) includes 30 minutes of “baby gym” (gross and fine motor development) and 30 minutes of music. The “Double Date” mommy and me class (10-24+ months) introduces children to colors, shapes, seasons and other basics through stories, games, music, art, and other activities. In the 2’s, 3’s, and 4’s/Pre-K preschool classes, children also start exploring literacy, math, science and social studies concepts. Now on their own, the children gain a sense of independence and self-confidence while learning skills new to this age group such as sharing, teamwork and being a friend. Afternoon enrichment for this group includes science/math, computers, reading readiness, and karate.20. In addition, MJC is now a Universal Pre-K site for Ramapo Central School District. MJC also has a full summer camp program and is a nut-free school. All teachers are certified early childhood specialists.
