Since 1981, Montclair State University’s Gifted and Talented Youth Programs have offered the best in weekend and summer enrichment courses. Located on a hilltop campus within easy reach of public transportation and major highways, The Gifted Programs offer academically talented children in grades 1-11 a wide variety of stimulating courses and workshops. Students attend classes in university level facilities that are fully equipped with state-of-the-art computers, Internet connections and many other technologically advanced equipment. The faculty consists of experienced professors with expertise in their chosen field. They take special delight in working with young gifted students in a setting featuring small classes that are grouped according to age and student achievement levels. The 2007/08 semester will again welcome application for qualified children in grades 1-3 into the Academic Gateways Program. While their children are busy exploring the worlds of enrichment, excitement and adventure, parents are welcome to share their insights, experiences and interests with other parents in the program’s POGO (Parents o f Gifted Offspring) workshop series. POGO sessions meet Saturdays and Sundays from the first through the last day of classes.
