Be
an astronaut for a day! By combining learning with fun, the Lower Hudson
Valley Challenger Learning Center allows “kids” of all ages
to experience what it is like to be an astronaut. Whether you come to
the Challenger Center with a school class or scout troop, for a birthday
party or public mission, with a group of campers or fellow co-workers,
the simulated but realistic space missions will take you on a journey
you will never forget. Participating “astronauts” conduct
research, solve emergencies, and perform hands-on scientific experiments
as they voyage to the Moon, to Mars, or to a Comet. The Challenger Center’s
space missions are designed to provide authentic science and technology
learning experiences within a cooperative, group-learning atmosphere
underscored by teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and decision
making. Besides school missions and after-school programs, parties can
be arranged for just about any age, as well as scout missions, including
overnights with additional badge activities. Monthly public missions
where the entire family can participate are available too. A mission
at the Challenger Center is an entertaining learning experience that
will last a lifetime. Exploring. Learning. Inspiring. It’s their
Mission.
