Visitors to the Hedwig Gruenewald Nursery School will discover a nurturing, non-competitive atmosphere where children ages 2, 3 and 4 can develop fine and gross motor skills through experimentation, play and hands-on experiences in all subject areas. Children are taught in bright, cheery classrooms where they are introduced to a variety of stimulating and challenging activities. Daily events include circle time, music, dramatics, cooking, stories, Judaic themes, creative movement, activity centers and use of the facility’s two outdoor playgrounds. Jewish holidays, Shabbat and basic Jewish concepts are also a regular part of the HGNS curriculum. The school’s staff is made up of caring, certified professionals and class sizes are kept small to insure plenty of individual attention for each child. A multitude of special events and activities are included in the school year, such as the annual Book Fair, monthly “Pizza for Lunch” days, Travelin’ Tumblers, Mini-Music Makers, annual “Grown-Ups” Day, Parent Association sponsored activities for families, field trips and holiday celebrations.
