kids-make-movies offers movie birthday parties and customized after-school classes. Roll camera! Action! At “make-a-movie” birthday parties, kids ages 8-15 create their own short movies and stop-motion animations at your home or at a professional green screen studio. Kids choose a theme before the party, from news cast, talent show and aliens to custom-ized themes and claymation. At the party, up to 15 guests are involved at all times taking turns as director, audio person, camera and clap-board operator and, of course, actor— all in front of a green screen. At the end of the party, everyone gets a sneak preview showing how the green-screen recording is magically transformed into space, under-water, concert stage scenes and more. kids-make-movies also offers editing classes for the birthday child and private afterschool shoot and edit classes where kids learn valuable storytelling and computer skills. One week later, each guest gets a DVD keepsake of the edited movie! Parties are available throughout New York City and now also in Westchester, parts of New Jersey and the Hamptons.
