Designed for children ages 4-14 years old, TNC’s summer program encourages your child to explore the natural world through outdoor fun & learning. Small groups enable us to give each child a lot of personal attention as they are guided through learning opportunities about forest and pond ecosystems through hands-on experiences, games, crafts, and much more. Led by experienced adult professional educators, different age groups meet each week and enjoy visits from live animals that will enhance your child’s experience in discovering more about our local environment and themselves. Preschool and kindergarten campers can attend half-day or full-day sessions. First through eighth grade campers attend full-day sessions which may include campfire cookouts and trips to other local natural areas. Parents can extend the day before or after with extended care. Tenafly Nature Center is a non-profit independent member-supported nature preserve. Their mission is to protect almost 400 wooded acres, all of its inhabitants and teach the next generations to do the same. Since 1961, TNC has nurtured an appreciation for nature, been a leader in open-space preservation and in environmental education for our community in Tenafly, Bergen County, and beyond.
