Summer Institute for the Gifted

For 35 years, the Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG) has provided programs for academically gifted and talented students that combine challenging academics with social, cultural, and recreational opportunities to nurture students’ social skills, as well as enhance their natural talents and abilities in various fields of study.

SIG offers three-week programs for gifted and talented children between the ages of 5 and 17. The residential program, for students ages 9 to 17, is hosted at ten of America’s finest college campuses including UCLA, Princeton University, and Yale University. SIG students live in campus dormitories and select courses of interest from a wide variety of academic, art, and recreational classes meeting daily. Commuter options are also available.

The day program, for students ages 5 to 12, and is hosted at 16 campuses nationwide including California Lutheran University, Explorations Preparatory School and Boston University Academy.

SIG participants immerse themselves in a unique camp experience designed to help them mature and develop as they create long-lasting relationships and increase their self-confidence and thinking in divergent ways — all within a safe and secure environment.

SIG is a program of the National Society for Gifted and Talented (NSGT), a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
