Is your child left out of playdate invitations? Does your child sit on the sidelines at recess? Steps to Socialization (s2s) is a social learning program for children who have difficulty with social interactions. Steps to Socialization’s highly trained staff guides students, in groups of 3-4, in learning the skills required to develop and maintain friendships, interpret social cues and work in groups. Skills taught include predicting what someone else is thinking about, how behavior impacts on others, and how to be part of a group. Using targeted activities and role playing, students are equipped with the skills needed to navigate the social world. The program is for children with average to above-average cognitive skills in grades 1 through 8. s2s teaches children how to think socially, step by step.
