As the summer extension of Ranney School, Summer Programs at Ranney School offers an outstanding selection of Academic, Gifted and Talented and Fine and Performing Arts courses, as well as Day, Trip and Sports Camps. Their elementary and high school courses are now offered five days a week to maximize learning and skill building. In addition, elementary math, science, reading and writing courses have been redesigned to foster critical thinking, dynamic engagement, collaboration and creativity. Science themes for grades 1-3 and 4-6 have been chosen to encourage students to delve more deeply into an area of study. More than two dozen new courses are now offered in Performing and Fine Arts, robotics, engineering, public speaking, debate, study skills, and critical thinking and writing. Middle Grades Female Leadership Seminar, Robots and Rockets: Mechanics and Flight, Architecture and Chess courses are dynamic additions to the summer curriculum that are sure to appeal to students and parents alike. Performing arts students in particular will want to take advantage of the expanded specialized programming in the Music Conservatory and Performing Arts Academy. This summer promises to be an exciting one with further enhanced Gifted and Talented courses designed to meet the needs of students who exhibit the advanced cognitive skills and intrinsic motivation to delve deeply into a topic of interest. This enrichment curriculum provides applications of the most recent brain research, multiple intelligences and project-centered learning. In addition, the state-of-the-art sports facilities offer the perfect venue for a full range of athletic opportunities that help children develop skills, confidence, leadership and teamwork. Sports Camps are available for Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Swimming, Boys’ Lacrosse, Golf and Fencing.
