The Montclair YMCA Summer Camp at the Lake is proud to be accredited by the American Camp Association. The American Camp Association (ACA) is committed to your child’s growth and development, providing the Montclair YMCA Camp at the Lake Directors with the most up-to-date information and best practices in the field of youth development. The Camp at the Lake experience is a rich environment full of new friends, new achievements, combined with new growth and independence. The essence of camp is the presence of supportive relationships, meaningful opportunities and challenging activities in a physically and emotionally safe environment. Camp at the Lake is a world designed for, and with children, where they can explore and discover, an important rite of passage for our children. Transportation is provided from 8 Essex County locations to our spectacular facility located 20 miles north of Montclair in West Milford. Campers explore 40 acres of open and wooded land and a breathtaking three-acre lake. Activities include: sports, crafts, nature, outdoor survival skills, hiking, archery, recreational swimming, low ropes challenge, drama, boating, and fishing. Specialty Camps are also offered in Basketball, Soccer, All Sports, Arts, Science and Adventure. At the Camp they emphasize four values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
