With 50 years of experience, Miss Sue’s Nursery School and Kindergarten focuses on the individual needs of every child. Through a nationally recognized curriculum that features self-discovery, independent thinking, cooperation, and sharing, students are provided with outstanding opportunities to learn and grow. In a nurturing and fun-filled environment, children are taught the skills and building blocks that will successfully carry them throughout their lives. Miss Sue’s is chartered by the New York State Education Department, and its teachers are certified and trained in Early Childhood Education. A multi-sensory, holistic approach to learning is provided through play and creative and physical activities. Students learn a range of subject matter, including math, science, social studies, language arts, art, music, and the latest in technology, such as Smart boards and computers. Monthly themes, such as Dinosaurs, Space, Under the Sea, Tools and Inventions, The Environment, Poetry and Literature, and more, foster an awareness of the world. An optional enrichment program is available, and the kindergarten is an extension of the nursery school philosophy. The kindergarten also encourages more challenging reading and math readiness skills through language experience activities, individualized work pages, workbooks and computer activities.
