Summer just wouldn’t be the same without the excitement and adventure of the Y Day Camp YMCA day camps provide children with summer adventures that promote a healthy spirit, mind and body. Children spend time indoors and outdoors as experienced staff lead campers in a wide variety of activities, including crafts, games, skits and songs, sports, swimming at lakes, pools and beaches and weekly off-site field trips to include activities such as bowling, skating, zoo and golf, to mention just a few. In addition, they continue to integrate a healthy kid’s curriculum into all day camp programs. Children participate in activities to gain basic knowledge on how to incorporate proper nutrition, exercise and positive self images into their everyday lives. Campers feel safe and celebrated for who they are and given experiences which help promote self esteem and self worth. Campers will experience new things, develop new skills, and have fun along the way. An environment is created where campers are active, learning, laughing, and are made to feel special. The Meadowlands YMCA offers day camp for Pre-K through 16 years old, as well as Enrichment Classes, swimming and activities that will delight your child. YMCA camps also offer: Leadership (because they know that leaders make the difference), Field Trips, Flexible weekly options, Rain or Shine, CIT (Counselor-in-training) Program. Choose from several locations in the Rutherford, Wood-Ridge, Cliffside Park and Wanaque areas.
