Mamaroneck Community Nursery School: “where parents play a part from the start.” Programs are available for children aged 18 months to 5 years old. MCNS embraces and nurtures each child’s learning and developmental pace, creating a safe and fun atmosphere that encourages a child’s natural curiosity and allows for developing self-esteem, communication and socialization, necessary school skills. Parents are given the opportunity to participate in the classroom, perform administrative functions such as being a class parent or on the board of directors, and help build the social community and aid in fundraising. Having a daily participating parent in the classroom distinguishes MCNS from other schools. Experienced, highly qualified, early childhood professionals head each class, and are aided daily by classroom assistants and a participating parent. MCNS has two beautiful facilities. The preschool program for 3-5 year olds is located just north of the Village of Mamaroneck in a sun-lit building overlooking an expansive outdoor playground. The second location, just south of the village, features three well-equipped classrooms and an indoor play area for daily use at the toddler center.
