The Little School House at Driftwood aims to meet the needs of children ages 18 months through pre-k by embracing and encouraging them as they develop into bright, well-adjusted students. Under the direction of Janice Nacht, the new school is complete with all brand-new equipment, country furniture, and the finest educational toys on the market. Registration is now in progress for a full nursery program for toddlers and 3 and 4 year olds for the 2011-2012 school year. Full-day, am and pm options are available for each age group, as is bus transportation for an additional fee. Open-ended activities are incorporated into art, music, science, language arts and cooking. Certified teachers and small class sizes provide individual attention. The pre-k program focuses on preparing children for kindergarten and encourages math skills, phonemic awareness and learning the “letter of the week.” Children do not need to be toilet trained. Before-school and afterschool care is also available. Additionally, custom birthday parties are available at The Little Party Place at Driftwood.
