nstituto Cervantes New York is a not-for-profit organization created by the Spanish government. Its mission is to promote the language and culture of Spanish-speaking countries through a wide array of courses and a rich and diverse cultural program. The academic program for children (ages 4-6 and 7-10) and preteens (ages 11-13) is designed to meet the creative needs of children from both Spanish-speaking and non-Spanish-speaking backgrounds. Through a unique immersion program imparted by native instructors, children learn to understand and express themselves in Spanish, while improving their communication skills. The program for teenagers (ages 14-17) is specifically designed to meet the needs of teenage students, learning the language in a way that relates to them and making it more interesting for them. In class, materials from both Spain and Latin America are used. Groups are created according to the age of the children and their level of Spanish (from complete beginners to advanced).
