Ever dreamed of hitting a perfect bull’s-eye with a bow and arrow? How about making a campfire? Hiking and exploring outdoors? Riding on a horse, swimming lessons at the pool, or pitching your own campsite in the woods? Or, maybe you dream of being part of a community, surrounded by others who accept you...for you. All of these dreams are regular experiences at Girl Scout camp! No matter which program a girl chooses, she will also get to play games and sing songs, do arts and crafts, participate in nature awareness activities, hike, enjoy campfires and outdoor cooking, and swim. All of Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ’s camps are accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) and are certified by the NJ Youth Camp Safety Act. Girl Scout camps are not only fun, but they also help girls develop a strong sense of self, gain practical life and critical thinking skills. Each program fosters cooperation and team building. There are Summer Camp opportunities starting at the end of June. Summer Camp 2015 will run through the middle of August, with programs for girls finishing grades K - 9 and as well as leadership programs for high school girls. Girl Scouts of Central & Southern NJ is looking forward to seeing returning campers and welcoming new friends to their camps. Be sure to come to an open house or schedule a tour with one of the staff. They’re sure you’ll love what they have to offer! Day Camps are held in Tabernacle and Somerset, New Jersey. Resident camp in Newfield, New Jersey. For more information or to register online visit www.campforgirls.org.
