The Ecole Internationale de New York (EINY) opened in September 2009. The French-American international school offers an academic, bilingual program in French and English. Mandarin is taught in grades 4-5. EINY combines the best of both French and American educational systems, offering students the rigorous, more classical and disciplined instruction of French education and the more fluid teaching of the American system. EINY is a family-sized school that enrolls American students who don’t speak French and whose parents want a bilingual education; French or French-American children; and students who speak a third or fourth language at home. The French teachers are certified by the French Ministry of Education and its American faculty members are certified by New York State. Every day from 3:15-6:30pm, the afterschool program FUNi offers a wide variety of extracurricular classes to explore the arts and practice sports in different languages. The school is currently enrolling students from nursery through 5th grade (ages 3-11). For information and to schedule a visit, contact Mr. Clyde Javois, director of admissions at clydejavois@einy.org.
