Since 1954, Camp Merry Heart located in Hackettstown, NJ, on 123 acres of picturesque mountainous land, has provided a safe, supervised and beautiful setting for individuals with disabilities and special needs. Year-round seasonal programs and activities include swimming, fishing, boating, challenge courses, arts and crafts, karaoke, dancing, nature studies, and a host of other recreational activities that build the campers’ confidence and self-esteem. Through these programs Camp Merry Heart provides opportunities for self-determination and group participation, along with physical exercise. In addition, Camp Merry Heart offers fun recreational trips and excursions, and weekend getaways that also supply much-needed respite for family caregivers. Camp Merry Heart is open to campers of ALL ages from childhood through adult and of any need. The Camp meets the American Camping Association’s highest standards of quality as well as those mandated by the New Jersey State Health Department.
