Camp Kiwi first opened its gates in 1952! This summer Kiwi celebrates its 60th Anniversary. Kiwi is family owned and operated. Today the sibling team, Karla and Ivan Bellotto, direct the camp. Their parents founded the camp. The traditional day camp for ages 2-15 is on an extensive 15-acre, resort-like campus in Mahopac. Campers swim twice daily (American Red Cross instruction and recreational) in heated pools. Extensive sports include state-of-the-art batting cages, baseball, softball, soccer, floor hockey, basketball, lacrosse, beach volleyball and much more. Arts and crafts, music, dance, drama, video music production, theater production, nature, wilderness adventure (with zip-lines), climbing wall, 18-hole mini-golf course, tennis, boating, gaga, water slides and beach, are the main camp activities. Schedules change weekly so that the campers are exposed to a wide range of activities. Weekly themes are the exciting backbone of Kiwi’s program, with which daily highlighted events are correlated! Two-three days per week enrollment options are available, as well as the full week for ages 3-7. Ages 8-13 have a three-day or five-day enrollment options. The program for 2 year olds is from 9am-12:30pm, Monday-Friday. CITS are 14 and 15 years old, and train in the morning and follow a fun-filled schedule in the afternoon. The full camp day is 9am-4:15pm. Extended hours are available. Lunches and transportation are optional. Campers can attended between four to eight weeks. To celebrate its 60th anniversary, Kiwi is lowering tuition rates substantially. Tours are available by appointment, call (845)277-3876 or visit www.campkiwi.com.
