Summer at The Waldorf School of Garden City is a day camp for boys and girls age 3-11. The setting is the school’s beautiful ten acre campus, with room to run and climb, have as much fun as possible, and learn from each other. The different groups (except for half-day campers) have ample opportunity to mingle and share in non-academic, noncompetitive activities. This year, their six-week program runs from June 25 to August 3. The full day program, available for children from 4-11 years, begins at 8:30am and ends at 3pm with an optional after-care program until 6pm. Campers are grouped primarily by age, with approximately 24 campers per group. The day includes music, crafts, dramatic work, storytelling, games and movement activities, athletics and more. Optional visits to points of interest in the area are scheduled for older campers. For 3 and 4-year-olds, Waldorf School now offers half-day programs. Summer openings go quickly, so it is advised that you enroll early. All programs are led by experienced counselors and assistants. Children may attend any number of days a week, but commitment to at least 19 days is required.
