The School for Language and Communication Development (SLCD) is a go-to resource for parents of children with a number of developmental and learning disabilities and delays. If your child has difficulty processing auditory information; poor listening skills; sound sensitivity; difficulty following direction; in-noise mishearing; trouble with reading, spelling or writing; or any other language difficulties, it may be time to consult SLCD. It is sometimes the case that children diagnosed with or suspected of having ADHD, children with reading difficulties and children diagnosed with learning disabilities may actually have auditory processing deficits. For children ages 6 and older, SLCD offers onsite, private evaluations conducted by an experienced licensed Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologist. Lectures and in-service presentations are also available.
