Newark Academy will hold a Summer Session
for students wishing to earn advance credit, preview courses
or develop their academic skills. All sessions will be held
from June 23 – August 1, 2008 at its Livingston Campus.
The Summer Session is open to all students from public or
private school, grades 3 through 12. Summer students can explore
writing styles, mathematics functions, scientific concepts,
foreign languages and computer applications in courses ranging
from PSAT/SAT preparation to literature workshops to physics.
The advance credit courses are designed for motivated students
who seek to further their academic studies and are equivalent
in rigor and content to full-year courses at Newark Academy.
Students can take advance credit courses for enrichment, or
with their school’s approval, transfer the course for
credit at their schools. Preview courses in math, science
and language are two-hour courses designed for students who
want substantial exposure to courses they will take in the
fall. Enrichment courses for younger students focus on developmental
work in reading, English, mathematics, science and study skills.
The classes, taught by talented faculty, have limited enrollments.
Classrooms are air-conditioned. To obtain a brochure for the
Summer Session, call Newark Academy at (973)992.7000, ext.
