Parents who are looking for a way to nurture the musical growth of their children need look no further! Music Together of Northern New Jersey is one of the largest and longest running Early Childhood Music Centers in the country. With 5 convenient locations throughout the Bergen & Passaic County areas, this informal, developmentally appropriate program for children newborn through Kindergarten uses a delightful combination of music and movement to provide kids with the basic musical skills needed to enjoy participating in both school and social musical activities. A professional actress, musician and director, as well as a NJ certified teacher, Music Together of Northern NJ’s founder/director Alyson Cohn has a B.F.A. in Theatre and Music from Syracuse University and has been educating children in early childhood programs for over 15 years. All instructors have degrees in Music and Education, as well as performance experience. The learning experiences at Music Together are reinforced through a non-performance oriented program that includes songs, rhythmic rhymes and exploring different musical instruments. Children can participate at their own pace with a parent or caregiver, according to their own developmental level. An important part of a child’s musical development is encouragement from parents and the Music Together experience involves mom and dad in this fun-filled program, regardless of their own musical abilities. Music Together of Northern New Jersey’s fun and educational workshops are offered weekday mornings, afternoons, evenings and Saturday mornings in 10 weekly 45-minute sessions. Music Together of Northern New Jersey also offers a special class for children ages 4-6, as well as a unique baby class for children 8 months old and younger. Special 6-week Summer Programs are available in July and August.
