Discovery Time Academy is the perfect place for children to learn as they discover the world around them. Its mission is to nurture and guide each child’s development mentally, emotionally, socially, intellectually and physically. Their goal is to encourage each child’s growth so that they can be well prepared for their future academic journey. They utilize an age appropriate, theme-based curriculum for each class. The staff feel strongly that open communication between the center, teachers and parents is essential. Continual assessments of each child are also used as a tool throughout the year to better understand an individual’s development. There are several classes: infant care, twaddlers, toddlers, preschool, pre-k and coming September 2008 they will be offering full-day Kindergarten. Most classes are offered both part-time or full-time. Special events and appearances by choice guests are a regular part of the academic sessions at Discovery Time. They believe that these events are integral to enhancing a young child’s learning experience. They include magicians, the petting zoo, the local fire and police departments, chick hatching program, pony rides, family fun night and more.
