Summer Art Camp for Children, ages 7-12: Session I: June 30-July 18, Session II: July 28-August 15. Children can enroll for any number of weeks. Bass Arts Studio Summer Camp offers children the opportunity to experiment with a variety of media in an environment which encourages each child’s individual self expression. Each week will have it’s own unique theme and will include painting, drawing, mixed media collage, sculpture, printmaking and paper mache. There will be an art show and reception at the end of each week for family and friends. Hours are 9am - 2pm, five days per week. Aftercare hours: 2 - 4pm. Fashion Design Camp (ages 11-17): July 21-25. Kids spend the week with a professional fashion designer. This exciting week will include a trip to New York City’s garment district to shop for fabrics and trims. Budding designers will learn to sketch the exaggerated fashion figure as well gain the skills necessary to create a professional fashion design presentation. Each designer will create inspiration boards, learn technical drawing and sewing techniques, as well as the terminology necessary for designing their own clothing collection. At the end of the week, they will present their work to a panel of fashion professionals. Hours are 10am - 4pm, five days per week. Studio Intensive For Teens (ages 13-17): August 18 - 22. This one week intensive offers teens the chance to immerse themselves in art making and increase their technical skills and knowledge of art history. There will be a field trip to New York City to visit a museum. Each studio day will include drawing and painting from life, master study and group critique and discussion. A visit from a guest artist will broaden students awareness of what it means to be a working artist. This intensive is highly recommended for students who are building a college entrance portfolio. Hours are 10am - 4pm, five days per week. Bass Arts Studio also offers ongoing classes in painting, drawing and mixed media as well as fashion design and fashion sewing throughout the year.
