Located in West Orange New Jersey,
Harbor Haven Day Camp is a 7-week, co-ed day camp for children
ages 3-15 with mild special needs. Using a multi-sensory approach
which guides each child into opportunities to develop new
skills, form friendships and achieve success, Harbor Haven
provides a nurturing and supportive summer. The camp is oriented
towards youngsters with learning disabilities and/or attention
deficit disorders. It may also be appropriate for children
with other types of learning challenges. At Harbor Haven,
each camper participates in a full, non-competitive camp program
offering a wide variety of activities. These include athletics,
American Red Cross Swim Program, arts and crafts, drama, music,
dance, nature, cooking, tennis, computers, karate, photography,
trips, special events, bicycle riding, social skills training
and more! Language and sensory motor groups are part of the
program for children ages 3 - 9. A qualified staff reinforces
each camper’s academic skills through a daily learning
period. The camper to staff ratio is 3:1, with youngsters
being placed appropriately in small groups. In addition, “Bright
Beginnings” is a specially designed, comprehensive program
for children ages 3,4 and 5 with communication, sensory, motor,
social or attention delays. For more information, contact
